SHEL(L)TER

When the lights go down, you find yourself submerged in a sensory world where first the music, then the film or the actors’ voices guide you through the feelings and experiences of the strange child who washed ashore. Together with him, we marvel at new experiences, discoveries and the colourful figures on the beach.

SHEL(L)TER is a modern fairytale to enjoy with your heart and your head, tackling issues such as ‘being different’, caring for other people and self-esteem. What does it mean to be a child or even just a human being? And above all, the play highlights a universal longing for protection, a home and the feeling of belonging. 

This is a production that does not underestimate children's thinking skills but rather stimulates them, one that does not patronise but rather challenges. A multidisciplinary performance that is at times playful and at other times moving, that amazes, sensualises but also questions.
